Tune-up/Repair Services
Our sewing machine tune-up and repair service is designed to keep your machine running smoothly and reliably for years to come. Over time, lint, thread, dust, and even broken needles can build up inside your machine, leading to common issues like tension problems, skipped stitches, or noisy operation. Every service—whether a routine tune-up or a more complex repair—includes a thorough cleaning, proper oiling, and a careful inspection of gears, belts, alignment, and tension. With over 25 years of industry experience, David, our owner and in-house mechanic, services all brands of sewing, quilting, embroidery machines, and overlock sergers. You’ll always receive an honest assessment, and if a repair isn’t worth doing, he’ll let you know. All repair work is backed by a 90-day warranty, so you can sew with confidence knowing your machine is in expert hands.

Mechanical sewing machines use manual knobs and dials to control stitches and tension, with no digital screen.
Electronic sewing machines have features buttons or a digital display to select stitches and automatic functions.
Serger/Overlock machines are designed to trim and finish fabric edges using multiple threads and loopers.
Embroidery machines automatically stitch decorative designs or lettering using an embroidery hoop or files.

About Us
Welcome to Muskoka Sewing Centre! There once was a time when every household had a sewing machine, but with mass production and convenience, the art of sewing is diminishing. Our mission is to revive this cherished craft by fostering a community where creativity thrives and skills are refined. We offer sewing classes for all, inviting children aged 8 and up, as well as youth and adults, all aimed at inspiring and empowering participants. Join us in honoring the timeless art of sewing and connect with fellow enthusiasts who share your passion!
Hi Muskoka! We’re Dave and Linh, and in 2021 we followed our hearts and made the big move from the GTA to Muskoka—trading city life for fresh air, forests, and more time outdoors with our young kids and beloved pups. When we’re not in the shop, you’ll often find us immersed in nature: spending summers backcountry canoe camping in Algonquin Provincial Park, or, when we’re feeling extra adventurous, making the epic 18-hour drive to our most cherished camping destination, Quetico Provincial Park, near Thunder Bay.
Back in the GTA, we continue to own and operate Sewlutions, our Brampton-based sewing shop offering sewing machine service and repairs, retail sewing machines, and a thoughtfully curated selection of notions for makers of all skill levels.
In March 2025, we were thrilled to bring our passion for sewing, education, and community closer to home with the opening of Muskoka Sewing Centre. Today, our days are happily divided between supporting our Brampton location and growing our Muskoka Sewing studio—creating a welcoming space for learning, creativity, and connection in the heart of cottage country.
